Yarrow (Achillea Millefolium)

Updated: May 2

In the language of flowers means, “Heath, Healing.”  It’s a pretty apt meaning.  Most people recognize the distinctive feather-like leaves. The flowers are typically white, although there are cultivars that have pink, orange, and yellow blossoms.

Historically Yarrow has been used as an herbal remedy for everything from nosebleeds to eczema from hay fever to varicose veins from upset stomachs to high blood pressure and everything in between.  Its most common use today is for respiratory ailments like colds and flus.

It also makes a pretty garden perennial.
